Derek is the President and Founder of EMBARK, an organization committed to developing highly effective leaders.

Derek is an ICF Credentialed coach, Master Certified Advisor in Leadership Development with LionsLead, Certified Consultant, Trainer, Coach and Facilitator in Transformational Leadership, he is a public speaker and serves on the National Advisory Council for A Christian Ministry in the National Parks.

Through his leadership training, coaching and consulting experience he has worked with leaders in various industries including Aerospace, Communications, Defense, Medical, Food Safety, Plastic Packaging, Microelectronic, Solar, Syntactic Materials and the US Military.

Derek is proud to partner with and contribute to Beyond Influence’s role as a preferred leadership provider to the U.S. Air Force. With extensive experience coaching and consulting across military ranks, Derek works with personnel ranging from junior team members to GS-15 and Senior Executive Service (SES) leaders.

His coaching focuses on equipping leaders with the skills to excel in high-pressure environments, foster resilience, and drive mission success. Through proven leadership programs, Derek has played a key role in developing leaders who serve with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Derek is also the Founder of Guywire Ministry​​. He is passionate about mountaintop experiences. As part of Guywire's mission, he leads outdoor leadership and spiritual development experiences alongside other men. These EPIC HIKE adventure trips include trekking excursions around the country and weekend leadership schools.
